Tiger Tracks

Tiger Tracks, Edinburgh Zoo’s Sumatran tiger enclosure, was the first animal enclosure completed by Baxter Studio for the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland. It is more than three times the size of the previous enclosure and the design centres around a glass and steel viewing tunnel which allows visitors to get up close to the tigers. In addition to the indoor tiger house, other viewing points were created as well as climbing structures, a feeding post, heated rocks and ponds. Only 400 Sumatran tigers are estimated to remain in the wild and without conservation the species faces extinction.
